According to Now magazine at nowtoronto.com, "The great civil rights lawyer and black pride activist Charles Roach has died. He was 78 years old.
For years in Toronto, the
omnipresent Roach graced meeting rooms where activists worked on causes
like democratic control over police, and worker and protester rights.
A co-founder of Caribana and
an organizer for Martinsday, Roach had a deep dedication to
strengthening the bonds of Toronto's African-Canadian community and
lent his name and prestige to a host of causes."
TheCollabo would like to express our condolences. For more information on the article click here
Charles Roach's life is truly one to be celebrated. He will always be remembered through Caribana!
